COMPULSORY PURCHASE OF LAND WITHIN WHIXALL MOSS SOUTH EAST OF WHITCHURCH
SHROPSHIRE

Notice is hereby given that Natural England has made the Natural England (Land Northwest of Morris’ Bridge Whixall Moss) Compulsory Purchase Order (No.1) 2018 under Regulation 36(1) of the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017 and Section 17 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949. It is about to submit this order to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation, and if confirmed, the Order will authorise Natural England to purchase compulsorily the land described below for the purpose of establishing the necessary conservation measures to avoid the deterioration of the natural habitat and to regenerate degraded raised bog in accordance with Article 6(2) of the Council Directive of 21st May 1992 on the conservation of natural habitats, and of wild fauna and flora (92/43/EEC) or for the purpose of securing access and drainage necessary for the establishment of a nature reserve.

The land is northwest of Morris’ Bridge Whixall Moss comprising 6.6 hectares of woodland, scrubland, access tracks and drains in the vicinity of the former Furber Scrapyard.
